This may be old news to many of you but here is a web site that has some excellent information on drugs that are in development and the pharmaceutical industry in general. Produced by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the In Development series is an excellent resource for drugs currently in the pipeline. Broken down by disease/indication the series includes such topics as new medicines in development for AIDS, African Americans, Cancer, Children, Heart Disease & Stroke, Older Americans, Women and much more. All reports are available in PDF format.
Also on this site is other information relating to the pharmaceutical industry. The 1999 Industry Profile has some very interesting tables on life expectancy, the effect of drug therapy on the decline of various diseases, the increased risk of baby boomers and cardiovascular disease, prevalence, cost and medicines in development, and so much more. We find it a very useful site.
The web address is:
http://www.phrma.org
Please forgive me if the is old information, but occasionally I have seen questions, that this site might be useful for.
Regards,
Dennis
