Hello everyone,

Here's information for an event coming up this Friday that I am hoping
many of you will be able to attend. In particular, I would love for you
to hear Marion de Paraza speak. She is highly involved in the El Sistema
music education program in Venezuela, and it's an incredible honor to
have her speak at UVM. The other speakers will be fabulous as well. I
highly recommend it! *
"Journeys Through Broadway, Bollywood, El Sistema & Las Vegas."* A
lecture with Marsh Professor Srinivas Krishnan with special guests
Marion de Paraza, Arjun Chandy, Jeff Queen and Garin Webb. Silver Maple
Ballroom, Davis Center. 3 p.m.

Of course, they all will be performing with the Orchestra on Saturday at
7:30
*Symphony Orchestra Concert: "Global Rhythms: Blueprints from across the
world." * Conducted by Yutaka Kono and Marsh Professor Srinivas
Krishnan. Including "Symphonic Episodes" by Professor Emeritus Thomas L.
Read and "Romeo and Juliet" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsy. Featuring
special guests Marion de Peraza, violin; Aaron Bishara, drums; Arjun
Chandy, voice; Patricia Julien, flute; Jeff Queen, snare drum; Garin
Webb, saxophone. Grand Maple Ballroom, Davis Center. 7:30 p.m. Free and
