Bella Voce Spring Concert Announcement:

Bella Voce Spring Concert: "Songs of Strength and Spirit" to feature
music for, by and about women

Two concerts planned in St. Albans and in Burlington

Bella Voce Women's Chorus will present "Songs of Strength and Spirit"

Friday, May 18, 8:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal, 8 Bishop St., St.
Albans, VT

and

Saturday, May 19, 8:00 p.m. at the UVM Recital Hall,

Redstone Campus, Burlington, VT.

Dr. Dawn Willis will lead the 40 women of the chorus in a program
which will feature music of Gwyneth Walker of Braintree, Vermont,
including two of Walker's sets of songs composed for women's voices.
The first set entitled "The Spirit of Women" includes three songs
based on different traditional American spirituals. The second set -
"Six Songs for Women's Voices" - are musical settings of poems by
American poet May Swenson. These songs address a variety of subjects
that relate to women's interests and issues. Also included in the
concert will be three Hebrew songs sung by women in the Terezin
concentration camp during World War II. Kaleidoscope, the Essex
Junction High School Women's Chorus, will join Bella Voce for a
portion of the Burlington concert. The rousing Finale from Gilbert and
Sullivan's operetta "The Gondoliers" will close the concert.

Tickets are $15 general seating, $12 for students and seniors.

Advance tickets for both concert locations are available at the Flynn
Box Office: 802-86-FLYNN, or on-line:

May 18 - St. Albans tickets

May 19 - Burlington tickets
