It?s that time again! I?m pleased to announce that the Vermont
Mathematics Initiative (VMI) is now accepting applications for
admission to the program beginning in July, 2006. Application packets
have been sent to all elementary and middle schools, curriculum
coordinators and principals and a link to an electronic version can be
accessed below.
The VMI is a content based, three year master's degree program aimed at
increasing one?s confidence in mathematics and improving the
mathematics achievement of VT students. The program has graduated over
130 participants, with another 50 currently enrolled. Many of our
graduates are now working in leadership positions within their schools
or districts and many are providing statewide leadership in the area of
mathematics.
Applications are being accepted until March 10. We encourage you to
consider the Vermont Mathematics Initiative as you consider your own
professional development needs. If you have any further questions,
please don?t hesitate to contact me at [log in to unmask] You can also
contact the VMI?s Executive Director, Judi Laird, at [log in to unmask]
or our Program Manager, Yaa Daaku Cole, at [log in to unmask]
