I am teaching CHANCE ENCOUNTERS right now! What an awesome unit! I sure
learned a lot! It is a 7th grade unit but I am currently using it with my
8th grade class. I starting implementing the program last year. I was unable
to complete as many units as I had wanted so I started this year with a 7th
grade unit on probability and statistics! Students spend time playing games
to determine experimental and theoretical probability. They learn how to
design outcome grids. They also learn how to take a game (miniture golf) and
make a similation of that game on an outcome grid! We were shooting hoops in
the gym yesterday to design our own game!
My 8th graders love to come to class! They think this is a great unit!
