Hi Gene,
I charge $1.00/lister card. I charge that because I am the one who has
to leave what I am doing to print it from the lister's computer and I
consider my time valuable. Also toner is not cheap and neither is paper. I
have had no complaints so far. I charge 10 cents/ pg for tax map copies onto
8x10 paper. because our tax maps were not formally adopted and are for
reference use only. If they were adopted I would charge the same as I would
for a land record.bSame reason, my time is valuable. Anything out of the
land records including zoning permits, survey copies and deeds are $1.00/pg.
I don't allow photography of the records. I have 6 hours a day in this
office and it is hard to get much accomplished if I have to make copies
constantly.

Subject: Copying costs
I am interested in finding out what other clerks charge for copies of lister
cards, tax maps, map and lot files records, etc., and how you have arrived
at the charge per copy. I recently had an appraiser complain because I
charged him more than the Secretary of States' 3 cents a page for a lister's
card (currently our rate for lister's cards). I was the one who was asked
to get the records out of the lister's office and the one who made the
copies.
