Subject: Re: Oil Water separators

In reply to John Lazelle's question regarding the use of floor drains
discharging into municipal sewer systems. We do allow commercial floor
drains with the appropriate separator. The correct approach IS to amend your
sewer ordinance to allow floor drains only if they are connected to an oil,
water and grit separator.  You also want to make sure that new commercial
projects that propose a floor drain are reviewed to ensure the proper
separator will be used.

I posted a shortcut to our ordinance which may help you out. You will have
to copy and paste it into your browser. Feel free to give me a call.
