Type in “assistive listening devices” on your browser and you will see the variety available. I’ll be talking to the state organizations like VCIL for advice. The type of device may depend on the nature of the hearing impairment, or existing aids the person may have. I’m looking at a system that is about $400, but still researching.

Hi Joel,

Could you tell me where you are getting them? I have a few who could use this as well.

Best,

~Karen

Brighton will be obtaining ADA-compliant assisted listening devices for our town hall. Probably involve a mike and amplifier, and a number of receiving units (4?) that people can pick up at the meeting, and take to their seats, or something similar.

Nanette, You may want to try some area churches. Some churches have assistive listening systems. Patty

No, she’s been very specific as to what she wants. This is because other things we have tried have not worked.

Perhaps seating her in the front and having a microphone for all speakers?

Hi everyone,

A resident has asked us to have an assistive listening system available to her for town meeting. We hold our town meeting at the school. I’ve checked with them and they do not have any hearing impaired equipment.

Do you know where I can get hearing impaired equipment?

Thank you!

Nanette
