Oh, you are so right……I forgot about the proof that we had actually mailed the notice.

Thanks

Granby does a certificate of mailing no matter the number of properties.. It is the only way that you can prove to a taxpayer that you sent them a change of value and the grievance day info.. Our listers even send out by COM the Lister greivance results... It is very cheap in the long run to do and can save you a lot of headaches...

If there are only about 50 changes of appraisal to send out, do we still have to do a certificate ofg mailing?

Thanks,

Yes, that is how it works. Just your regular 47 cent stamp goes on envelope and the extra fee actualy goes on the firm mailing sheet that gets checked by PM and date stamped as of the day they go out..

Here in Chester we put the initial 46 cents on the envelope and then at the Post Office we pay another 44 cents (?) I think, per name on the list. The Post Office seems to be somewhat confused on how a certificate of mailing works but they have been consistent with us.

If you only have up to I think it is 3 names or less you have to pay the $1.30 and a different form then the Firm Mailing book is used. Then it is the lower fee..

I have been reading all the comments with regard to certificate of mailing for Change of Appraisal notices. Our lister just went over to the post office and was told it is going to cost $1.30 per name on the list......is that what everyone else is paying?
