Dear Muninet,

As some of you may have noticed, the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA) is now on the State of Vermont email system and our email addresses have changed to @vermont.gov. An autoreply with our new contact information is currently activated for any messages sent to our old email addresses; however, this will end soon. If you are unsure of how to reach individual VSARA staff members by email, you can still find specific contact information on our Contact Us page: https://www.sec.state.vt.us/archives-records/contact-us.aspx. Please note that our phone numbers remain the same. You can also reach us through the following shared mailboxes and phone numbers:

  * Records and Information Management: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> 802-828-3897
  * State Archives Reference Room: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> 802-828-2308
  * State Records Center: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> 802-828-3280
  * Vital Records: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> 802-828-3286

Our website and all of our published forms and procedures also have our new email addresses. We recommend reviewing and refreshing any forms or procedures you may have saved locally to assure you are using the latest version: http://www.sec.state.vt.us/archives-records/records-management/handbook.aspx If you happen to notice that we missed updating an email address on our website or in our procedures or forms, please let us know!

Annual Municipal Reports
Many of you have already submitted your annual municipal report, and VSARA would like to express our thanks! Many of the electronic town reports will be available soon via VSARA's website https://www.sec.state.vt.us/archives-records/state-archives/find-records/archival-records.aspx?seriesId=SE-180, if they are not already there. If you have not yet submitted your town report, please note that you can send electronic reports to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>, or send hardcopy reports by U.S. Post to :

Professional Development Opportunity
Also, as we approach April, which is Records and Information Management Month, I'd like to take this opportunity to share an exciting opportunity for records management training developed by the National Association for Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA). NAGARA is a great resource for training, guidance and general support on managing government records (including local government) and VSARA staff are active in its programming and services. On May 4th NAGARA will hold its first in-person regional form in New England (Providence, RI). The forum will focus on a variety of records management related topics, such as cyber security, e-discovery, and email management. You can find more information on NAGARA's website: www.nagara.org<http://www.nagara.org>

VSARA is hoping to collaborate with NAGARA in the future to hold a regional forum in Vermont. If you would be interested in a Vermont regional forum, please email me at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

We're Growing!
VSARA is pleased to announce that we welcomed two additional records and information management (RIM) specialists, Jenne Greaves and Andrew Rais, this past month. They join Nick Connizzo, Zack Whitaker, and me in providing a variety of records and information management services to all three branches of State government as well as municipalities. More information and details about recent changes in our staff and services offered will be in the next Records and Information Management (RIM) Update newsletter.

If you have any questions or comments about VSARA or our records and information management services, please do not hesitate to contact me directly or to reach out to another VSARA staff member. We are happy to help in any way we can.

Thank you for your time and enjoy the rest of the week!
