Come join a fantastic team in a hardworking and supportive environment! The Division of Property Valuation and Review at the Tax Department currently has multiple openings, and are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

District Advisor (2 Openings)

Are you looking for an opportunity to use your background in real estate appraisal or assessment to improve both local and state government? PVR is seeking two qualified individuals to serve as District Advisors, to provide training and technical assistance to municipal officials on real and personal property assessment. This person will also conduct detailed analyses of municipal assessment practices, all in support of implementing the statewide education property tax system. District Advisors operate primarily from a home office or Montpelier-based, work and travel extensively within a geographic district and occasionally travel to other locations within Vermont. Applicants should have a strong background in the real estate assessment, reappraisal or appraisal field.

Current Use Specialist/Property Tax Specialist III (1 Opening)

This position will work within the Current Use Program of the Property Valuation and Review Division. The Current Use Program, or Use Value Appraisal Program, manages the property tax benefits to those landowners who chose to enroll in this working lands program. The position will have significant interaction with town officials, foresters, real estate professionals, landowners, and other professionals. Candidates will feel comfortable working with a high degree of independence, balancing multiple, timely responsibilities, working in various computer programs, reviewing maps, income returns, deeds and complex applications.
