Wilmington uses NEMRC. I like the way the programs work together especially from the grandlist to tax admin, cash receipts and general ledger. Reports are difficult for board members but usually once I explain them they are good. For town meeting we put reports into excel prior to putting in the town report. NEMRC makes it easy to create these reports and I make some changes to make things more clear to the general public.

Subject: Municipal Accounting software
Hello all,
At the request of many in the Town of Norwich, I am doing an informal survey of which accounting software packages VT towns are using. Of particular interest is the clarity of reports that the software produces. Raw data, however accurate and comprehensive, is not often illuminating to officials and town’s people not gifted with degrees in bookkeeping.
To start the ball rolling, we in Norwich use NEMRC. Anyone else willing to share? Comments on how satisfied your town is with the products would be appreciated.
If you choose to reply off list to [log in to unmask], I will compile the results anonymized and post them to the list.
