I am also willing to send copies to escow companies, etc. and keep a
"permanent copy file" of people who request bill copies (often these are the
people who pay the bills). All of this facilitates getting taxes paid in
the long run. Keeping track of the the $1 here and there wouldn't
necessarily be worth the time for me.
BUT we each are dealing with different sets of 'customers' and must act
appropriately in response to what is out there for each of our offices.
I find it really useful to learn how this stuff is being handled by
different towns. That way, if situations change, we don't need to figure
things out from scratch and can be aware that we won't be the only ones who
are charging for this or that when there are complaints.
