Lindsey,
I am sorry, I was unable to attend the first meeting tonight, I
had pole vault practice for track until 8:30 and was just tired and beat
up. I am still very interested in SAFE and was wondering if you could
let me know about any up coming events meetings in which I could attend.
Everything is still crazy right now getting used to the practice
schedule and school, and I am again sorry I missed the first meeting.
Thanks,
Jared Alvord

Hi folks!
Welcome and welcome back to our old and new subscribers!
Before this message gets down to business, let me just say a quick note
for those of you who have moved on from UVM or wish not to be affiliated
with our listserv anymore...
if you wish to leave this listserv and can't figure out how to
unsubscribe
yourself, please email me at [log in to unmask] to request that you are
removed.
andddd we're back....
First off, our first meeting of the year is going to take place tomorrow
night *Wednesday* at 8:30 in L/L 216. We're still working on getting
this
space, so please meet here and if the space is occupied we'll find an
empty room for the evening.
So who should attend? Anyone that wants to get involved is welcome to
attend! The way SAFE works is simple...
Simply put: you sign up for our listserv, we let you know what's going
on.
If you like an event that we're planning or you'd like to get involved,
drop us a note and let us know how you plan to help out. If you're more
interested in the planning aspects of events, then come on out to our
meetings and have your voice be heard! We're a young group, so YOU have
the power to depict where this organization is going!
What do we do?
This year we have some specific events we're planning or helping out
with,
like our involvement with Deaf and Disabilities Awareness Month, where
we
are co-sponsoring a Wheelchair Basketball Tournament with the UVM
Program
Board following a program by Paralympic Athlete Matt Glowacki.
Basically, we want to find ways to use sports as a way to bring people
together around social justice issues.
Have some ideas? Want to know where we're headed? Just want to hang
out
with some passionate folks? Then stop on by tomorrow night and we'll
get
this party started...
until next time, study hard, be safe, and take care!
peace and play hard,
-Linds
