On December 1, 1955 Mrs. Rosa Parks was arrested

for refusing to relinquish her seat on a bus

to a white passenger.

This act of Civil Disobedience set the stage for

the modern Civil Rights Movement and she

eventually became known as the

Mother of the Civil Rights Movement.

Rosa Parks died on Oct 24, 2005.

You are invited to a program to honor

Mrs. Rosa Louise McCauley Parks

and her lifetime of work as a Civil Rights activist.
