Hi All,
I wanted to share with you a couple of courses UVM will be offering
online this fall, Differentiated Instruction with Technology and
Inquiry-based Learning & Technology. Tim Fox is the faculty for
Differentiated Instruction with Technology, and Joyce Morris is the
faculty for Inquiry-based Learning & Technology. Course descriptions
are below.
These are great courses for teachers that want to integrate 21st
century technology tools into their classroom instruction.
You don't have to be a technology expert to take them even though
both courses align to state requirements for the endorsement
as technology Integration Specialist and all classes are delivered
online. All you need is a computer with internet access.
These are graduate level courses approved by the College of Education
and Social Services at the University of Vermont.
Classes start Monday, August 27 and end Thursday, December 6, 2007
and are
delivered asynchronously so you can fit them into your schedule.
Differentiated Instruction with Technology (Credit Hours: 3)
Education EDSS 200 (CRN: 92798)
This course explores ways that educators can address the diverse
strengths and needs of students in todays classrooms by developing and
utilizing a instructional framework based on current information and
practice related to differentiating instruction and universal design for
learning. A focus of the course will be the use of existing and emerging
technologies to assist and support the success of all students,
including students with disabilities. High speed internet access highly
recommended.

Inquiry-based Learning & Technology (Credit Hours: 3)
Education EDSS 200 (CRN: 92852)
This online three credit graduate course engages educators in a
student-centered, active learning experience using technology resources
and tools to promote questioning, critical thinking and problem solving
skills. During this inquiry-based course, educators will have an
opportunity to learn about technology resources & tools that support
inquiry-based learning in all disciplines and design an activity for the
students they teach.
Instructor: Joyce Lorraine Morris.
Location and Class Time: This course is ONLINE.
Prerequisite: word processing, file management and Internet access
needed .
