I already do the same thing with Google Docs and/or google apps. Which is free and web based. It even allows for multiple people to edit the same file at the same time (not sure if groove will do that since it is just a snyc program). I use google with my class I teach at CSC and some of our SU documents are in Google so our admits can work on the same document.
Google docus included a wordprocessor, spreadsheet, and presentation. And Google apps includes email, calendaring, chat, and other things.
Mill River did a great presentation on google apps at Vt-Fest this year.

Subject: Groove 2007
Greetings,
I gave a presentation yesterday on the new software applications that are available to the teachers at Middletown Springs (Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, Windows SharePoint Services), and as part of the presentation I said that Groove, in essence, gives the teachers a classroom without boundaries. The example that I used was that if they could find a cooperating teacher in Australia who had Groove, then they could set up a really cool collaboration experience on a subject such as global warming for their students. That might be easier said than done. So the question I have for the list is are there any schools and teachers in Vermont that are running Groove 2007 that would be interested in participating in inter-school collaborative projects?
Thanks,
Bill Brien
