Hi all -
I would like you to be aware of and, hopefully, take advantage of some free
resources for schools that are provided by TECH CORPS, a national nonprofit
organization dedicated to helping K-12 schools use technology more
effectively. There are two resources: techs4schools and webTeacher, two
innovative, high quality educational technology resources that you can begin
taking advantage of today, at no charge. A more detailed description and
contact information follows:
· techs4schools is an online forum where school educators and administrators
seeking technology advice and guidance can connect with knowledgeable IT
professionals eager to help. Participating schools are placed on teams
comprised of educators and tech savvy volunteers who have complementary
needs and expertise. Visit http://techs4schools.techcorps.org/ to learn
more.
· webTeacher is a self-paced Internet tutorial developed by teachers, for
teachers. The tutorial provides both basic as well as in-depth information
about the World Wide Web, including how to communicate electronically with
other educators, access curriculum content, create your own homepage,
encourage safe use of the Internet and locate additional educational
resources. Visit http://www.techcorps.org/webteacher for more information.
For more information about TECH CORPS' programs and services, refer to
www.techcorps.org or contact Lauren Cooperstein, Director of the
organization's Northern New England Region, at (978) 897-0275.
