We are not using filemaker pro server and that may be our problem.  We
are simply sharing the files from a shared network directory.  I have
run other data base programs in a similar fashion with no problems.
These being FoxPro and Visual dBase.  These are however self contained
and might work more like filemaker pro server.

Just to clarify, are you running Filemaker Server? That is the proper
way to run Filemaker in the environment you describe. FM server runs
on
Macs, Windows 2000 Server and Redhat Linux. We are running it on
RedHat
Linux with mainly Windows clients in a WAN and are pleased with the
results so far.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how stable file maker pro is

would be very leary of using this product on a network for student
records.

I would love any advise which may help understand why the nursing
program corrupts so often.  I have developed database program in
several
other systems and never experienced the level of error that I have
with
file maker.

We are in our second year of recording standards electronically. Our
school
management system is SASIxp which does not handle grading by standards
so we
also created a standards-based report card using FileMaker Pro. If you
would
