Hello, all. Sorry for this belated notice, but if people are coming to 
the UMass event last night, I wanted to encourage you not to be 
intimidated by the signs on campus about the parking ban. This is a big 
party weekend on campus, and there's heightened security, but we've been 
assured that people attending "official" events like ours won't have 
trouble parking. (We could have a long discussion of the politics of all 
this... and no doubt there will be much such discussion here... but it 
probably wouldn't be very interesting to anyone not on the UMass campus.)
