Then there was the more recent blame upon Carson for mass human killings by mosquito borne disease, due to DDT being withdrawn from the market.
Unfortunately, many environmentalists believed that criticism of Carson.
In 1951, studies found DDT capable of killing calves suckling as their mother's grazed DDT sprayed grassland -- neurological disease. That rings a correlative bell -- DDT and polio in the human population, which both reached an apex in 1951.
