Pending completion of the web site, could someone on this list indicate the
date and location of the conference?

Carrol

To Herb and all,

It's hard to contain my excitement about this conference, the opportunity to
meet some of you, and perhaps most importantly to struggle together to
develop science that serves the people. I came to find out about Science for
the People and this listserv in particular through my own ponderings and
research about the roles of scientists and engineers in making revolution
and counterrevolution. My political and scientific education began as I grew
up watching the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions and financial catastrophes
throughout high school and college, and I quite certainly feel like I have a
lot left to learn about the relationships between war, profit, science,
technology, and people. My hope is that attending this conference will
connect me with people who are willing to share their knowledge and
experiences from struggle, and to hopefully engage in new forms of
organization with some of you.

Anyways, I feel like I'm gushing here...but I am truly excited to hear about
this opportunity. Hurray!

Thanks,
Ben Allen
