The December 17 announcements in Washington and Havana have opened up new
opportunities for closer collaboration with Cuban scientific and technical
societies.
At the time, I was asked to evaluate the December 17 announcements about
normalization of diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba.
I went a bit further and offered my view of opportunities and challenges
facing the Cuban revolution in the era of decline of the American empire.
