Join us as we, UVM Students, stand in solidarity with the CCTA Bus Drivers!

***Meet in the Davis Center at 4:30 TODAY (Wednesday) to walk downtown
together.
If you are already downtown or live off campus, meet us at the rally
at the corner of CHURCH STREET & CHERRY STREET.***

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!

We are joining the bus drives in their stand for respect, fairness,
and livable jobs. This is what all Vermont workers deserve! Here are
the core issues that are causing this strike:

#1 Public Safety Issue
-Drivers now face 12.5 hours behind the wheel, over a split shift of 15 hours
-Driver fatigue is the leading cause of accidents in the transit industry
-UVM Students RELY on public transportation -- and we all share the road

#2 Human Rights & Quality of Life
-Drivers face routine abuse: restrictive surveillance and arbitrary
discipline, lack of bathroom breaks, and violation of constitutional
rights to speak out about management's neglect of public safety
-New immigrant drivers face discrimination for cultural/religious
holidays. Some progress has been made, but more is needed.

#3 Livable Jobs
-CCTA management has relief on lower wage, part-time drivers
-Vermonters can't make ends meet with part-time labor, especially in
Chittenden County. We are standing up to this dangerous trend to
protect the quality of jobs available to Vermonters in our area.

BE THERE TO STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE DRIVERS AS A UNIVERSITY OF
VERMONT COMMUNITY!
