...WINTER STORM WATCH FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT...
SNOW WILL BEGIN IN THE HIGH MOUNTAIN ELEVATIONS NEAR THE IDAHO
BORDER EARLY FRIDAY THEN SPREAD SOUTH THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE
WASATCH MOUNTAINS AND INTO THE UINTA MOUNTAINS BY MID AFTERNOON. THE
SNOW LEVEL WILL REMAIN NEAR OR ABOVE 7500 FEET THROUGH THE DAY
FRIDAY THEN SLOWLY LOWER TO NEAR 6000 FEET FRIDAY NIGHT.
THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BE FROM ABOUT OGDEN NORTHWARD BUT
LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW IS POSSIBLE ABOVE ABOUT 7500 FEET THROUGHOUT THE
WATCH AREA. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 8-14
INCHES.
THE SNOW WILL BECOME SHOWERY SATURDAY AND GRADUALLY DECREASE.
ANYONE PLANNING ACTIVITIES IN THE NORTHERN UTAH AND SOUTHEAST IDAHO
MOUNTAINS EARLY IN THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND SHOULD PREPARE FOR FOR
WINTER-LIKE CONDITIONS. PLEASE MONITOR LOCAL MEDIA OR NOAA WEATHER
RADIO...OR VISIT WEATHER.GOV ON THE INTERNET FOR UPDATES ON THIS
DEVELOPING STORM.
