Funny thing - sonuds like the sugarers were concerned the ground was TOO
frozen because lack of insulating snowfall. Combine that with a sudden 40-
50 degree warmup last week after single digit lows....Had a frozen culvert
situation next door from me on Friday night requiring all kinds of
improvised ice chipping/clearing tools to help neighbors. Saturday
night's ruts became formidable pre-grading. This week has been
treacherous with many neighbors parking at the end of the road and walking
in. It ain't pretty. But it is snowing now. Waitsfield road crew had
been pretty quick to grade refrozen ruts as best they can.
BTW - Watch out for law enforcement on Rt 100/100B split.
