Skip King reporting, as messenger not source>

"Northeast (New England, New York) - up 19.3% year over year
Mid Atlantic (Pennsylvania and points south) up 6.5%
Midwest up 12.3% Rockies up 2.3%
Pacific West up 10%

It should be borne in mind that the Northeast and Mid Atlantic regions had wretched years last year - worst in a decade in the Northeast, and second-worst for the Mid Atlantic - and that last year's Pacific West totals were the weakest in the past decade."

I have long observed that the ski industry is very good at deceiving itself. "Itself" being intended to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The mid Atlantic did indeed have a wretched year. I do not believe that business here was up 6% There has to be an error in that.

And what is meant by, "- - the Northeast and Mid Atlantic regions had wretched years last year - -"? The mid A certainly was wretched, but I read the List all winter and it looked like a significantly better than average season in New England. I don't understand how both regions can be summed up in the same remark. The statement also doesn't square with NE being +19%. That is seriously out of whack with the words. And if you believe, as I do, that the mid A was actually -10% or more, it makes no sense at all.
