Went to the last two DEAD shows held in VT. Insane scene. The first year
went without much incident. The second was more like a post-apoctolyptic
movie. Masses of fans rushed the fence, tearing out sections and rioting. I
watched bleeding fans crash over the gates into the show. Probably the same
ones who maliciously tipped over rows of porto-lets stacked up against the
fences....people were trapped in them, with the doors down, or so I heard.
I was in the middle of the crowd when they tipped these over, and the smell
of those tipped over and over-flowing toliets added a certain aromatic
touch to the festivities...

One of the things I hate about summer here in the Burlington area are all
the post-hippy/street urchins that invade our lovely area when the weather
gets warm. Attracted by the Phish connection and the other shows/Bread and
Puppet stuff in the region, they invade in all their filthy, matted, pan-
handling glory.

Like many Vermonters, I take a live and let live, libertarian view of all
this, but I wish they went to Maine instead in the summer!
