I arrived here at Crystal at 2am after the 2 hr drive from SeaTac. It was a long day traveling from PHL and I battled the sandman, especially during the last 6 miles of the access road. No problem with the road conditions or driving, no chain up check points, but I had rented an AWD.
Yesterday, I did not ski much after sleeping in and getting my 4 yr old daughter settled in the Kids Club. Just 2 runs on Chinook Express and Forest Queen. The snow was very dense and wet, but about knew deep where untracked.
There's lots of snow here and it's been snowing continuously since I arrived. The snow is very wet and dense at lower elevations, but everyone is telling me the snow up high is dreamy.
As long as everything goes well with getting my little girl settled at Kids Club, I will get after that high elevation pow today! They are reporting 26" in the past 48hr, so it should rock!
My decision to take Skylar with me was sort of last minute, but getting her on skis young and for multiple days in a row is a priority for me, even if I have to sacrifice some of my own days now, because I hope to be chasing her one day.
