Remember that at the 5 lodges at Alta (in order, headed up canyon,
the are the Peruvian, GMD, Alta Lodge, Rustler, Snowpine) it's a MAP
rate - includes breakfast and dinner.

The only problem with booking really early is that you may or may not
get the weather/snow that you want. I always recommend that if at all
possible, try to book as close to your dates as reasonable for your
situation. We tend to have 4 to 6 week weather cycles.

As Marc2 said, that worry is overrated these days*. There hasn't been
a single day this season that LCC was closed all day and no more than
2 days last season; the latest road opening this season has been
10:30a. BTW, on those days when the road is closed all day because of
avi conditions, none of the lifts are turning, either, and chances
are Alta is under interlodge restriction as well (meaning you don't
leave *any* buildings, even to go to your car).
*Back when North America got real snow it was different. There are
stories of storm cycles of 2' and 3' per night for 5 nights.
