Storm depths can vary greatly here based on wind direction, storm track, precisely where the lake effect switch turns on, etc. Both canyons average roughly the same over the course of a winter, but for the past few storms, actually, BCC has been favored.

I remember checking years ago that both canyons (and all 4 resorts) received @500 inches of snow a year on average. Is there a difference in the direction the slopes are facing that would account for depth differences??

The skiing is far better in LCC than BCC as far as depth of snow....
