The only problem I see with this route is the tough drive over Lincoln Gap
when it's closed and unplowed.

Three alt options include 1. staying on Rt4 until it meets Rt100 and then
go north through Granville or 2. Stay on Rt125 and cross the Middlebury
Gap to Rt100 or 3. Stay on Rt116 until it hits Rt17, then go over the Ap
Gap. None of them are very fun when it's snowing, but Rt4 > Rt100 is
probably a bit easier.
