I'm not Dana but last week I used some of the F4 universal glide wax on my
waxless skis (tip to tail including scales) and it made a big difference.
You could always avoid the scales if you are worried about them losing
their gripping ability. The backdoor nordic from my place is low angle
enough for the most part that grip isnt much of an issue.
