Anyone else notice the graph on the SkiVt-L base camp web page is over 100
inches!!
I looked because over the weekend I was riding the woods at Killington and
I had to duck my head in some of my favorite spots. I normally don't have
to even think about that. I had to duck because the snow was so deep I was
close to the lower branches of the trees. They were like different places.
Saturday, I was on the mountain at 10 of 8am. I went down Escapade, droped
the rock above the SRT and entered the light. Lots of boot deep pow but
not totally untracked, which I was looking for. I quickly found that after
I exited the light and crossed cascade and entered the woods. Perfect - 6
new ontop of who knows how much.
Next was Mississippi Ave. Untracked but I had to duck in places. From
there I can't remember. But lots of woods and lots of untracked. The snow
was windpacked in spots but very soft overall.
I rode a couple of tree runs I never did before. The woods off the top of
the Devil's Fiddle trail had perfect tracked uped powder snow. The only
problem with this run is a seven foot drop about 50 vertical feet into it.
I rode the Devil's Fiddle Lift Line three times on Saurday. I have never
done that. There is some pretty uneven terrain under that lift.
I don't remeber riding too many trails except to connect from woods to
woods. I rode til 3 with only a 15 break for a burito at the Mid station.
At 3 I put on skis for a couple or runs on Snowdon. I was beat!
