It was still pretty good late-season too- up until about half-past
April. I skied the Pine Hill around half-past March in plenty of cover.
In-bound April skiing was the best it had been since the early '90s.

I like it too- it often felt like a cheap carnival at the summit in the
summer with the traffic jams and all. I suppose it probably means more
people may buy the lift-ride, putting as much money in the Crowley's
coffers as it put's in the State's, but the overall number of people at
the summit will be less than half the normal summertime weekend census,
eh?

Hmmm... think it'll hang in long enough for the June "skiing" photo-op
on the Kneissl Bigfoot? :-)
FWIW: They're predicting snow on the summits in the Whites on Sunday- if
we're lucky the skiing will get a bit sweeter at the dregs of Tuckerman
early in the week, in case anybody is playing hooky...
