My sources say that people misunderstood Stritzler's comments. They say
he didn't say would never sell to Vail. They say he was saying nothing was
happening in the immediate future. The lifts are Smuggs are getting old
and they fear the lifts will fail to pass inspection. I also heard that
Smuggs had plans to develop 4 ski areas at the resort but only developed 3
of them. Some believe that the interconnect could go between Sterling
and Madonna instead of the currently used trails.
So I agree with Leigh, Vail is not done buying.
