I don't disagree with that at all, although floating around on a Mistral
One-Design that I could have paddled faster than sailed never really did it
for me. With the pun fully intended, "Hey, whatever floats your boat." For
me, the thrill only came from planing, which meant getting in the straps and
in the harness. That said, at 140 lbs, I could go out with a 6.0 on a 15-mph
day and be planing regularly on a 105-liter board while my buddies sat on
the beach and sulked.
