Anticlimactic.
Conditions were pretty good: soft corny snow for the most part, good coverage. But Haynes and the Jet are two of the most characterless trails to be found, especially without moguls.
The boy wonder was less than enthused about the day and I'm still harboring a nasty nose virus, so we got a late start, commencing to ski at 1230 or so. Kept it up for maybe 10 runs, looking for JJ&J, who were nowhere to be found, despite my best efforts to communicate our position. Finally found them in the parking lot at 4PM.
The distance between food/reeb/lodge/lot and lift does not favor a party atmosphere. There should have beed reeb and a grhill at the base, and a deck to soak in the sunshine. They need an umbrella bar like Killington. What they had insead was one skier who looked an awful lot like The Hammer,a woman in a vintage red wool resiewduB, and a long haired youth in a Bruins hockey jersey doing old school ballet moves and/or 50MPH schussing with a 50 pond boombox on his shoulder.
Nonetheless, me and the kid had some good times, he finishing things off with some small arial tricks and a bit of whoop-rasing grass and mud skiing to wrap up the season.
A deebadda beeba da be d that's all folks.
Maybe.
