Good point considering the travel restrictions currently in effect. I'm from one of the Red counties, in NYC:
https://accd.vermont.gov/covid-19/restart/cross-state-travel
And so is the vast majority of Killington's customer base, I would think.
If Vermont were to lift these restrictions in time for the winter, that would most likely be a political decision rather than a data-driven public health decision; that would call the credibility of the whole process into question. But, like you, I live in NY, so at least I'm still allowed to travel freely within NY state.
I've been a passholder and a member of various ski-houses at Kmart for more than a decade, but realistically it just doesn't look like that is in the cards this year. If anything, I'm worried about the health implications of ski house membership as much or more so than the skiing itself, and I'm thinking it will be more of a "play it by ear" season for Lisa and I, with as much emphasis on human-powered touring as we can muster. (She's even thinking about buying a 4-season tent; yikes.) If we do get a pass at all, it's more likely to be the Epic Pass so we have some flexibility. That would get us unlimited day-trips to Hunter (which I dislike, but is better than nothing) and Mount Snow (where a local friend owns a house, but there are likely to be travel restrictions.)
Not exactly sure how I'll get in shape for touring without the resort-skiing baseline that I'm accustomed to, but we'll just have to figure that out.
I already had covid once, back in March, and it turned out in hindsight that I was positive and possibly contagious at the ski house one weekend. With what we're learning about immunity being less than perfect, I'm not super eager to take any more risks. It was a brutal experience when I had it.

I may need to get an address in the next county because with the students at the university, our COVID number have risen. Only students are affected (at this point). We have no local residents with COVID, only about 150 students with it, which puts us out of VT at the moment. Hoping the numbers go down by ski season, but who knows what will happen.
