Little bit of dragging this morning as we waited for the niar to stop,
but we got on the hills just before those Canadians in the ski school
mobbed the Sterling lift. This was Anna's (who is almost 5) first
time up to the top, and she did well.
Madonna 1 was shut down today. Rumor from the liftee at
Sterling was that there was a big patch of ice right at the unloading
and it could take them some time to fix it up. So we stuck to
the few ways on Sterling.
Around 11:30, while I was waiting at the bottom of Sterling and
recognized the friendly face of Ben Bloom. This was my first
plaid sighting in 3 years. Immediately, the decision was made
for me to skip lunch, and all women went inside. Ben and I
skied around until 3pm. In it, we encountered pretty much
every snow type other than powder. From quite good (on
reserved trails that took some route finding to get to) to really
really bad (Hersheys). No new stuff for me this time though,
all the secrets don't have enough good snow to make it
worthwhile. Thanks for the tour.
Got back in time to drop the kids off at the pizza party and went
up to the Snowshoe dinner at the top of the notch. This was
a very fun time, with good food (made by the Hearth and Candle
restaurant). We snowshoed out over the Sterling Pond and up
to Stowe, looking out over the notch. After dinner, we hiked
down.
