.SYNOPSIS...
Dry weather with below normal temperatures expected through 
Wednesday. Next chance for some light snow showers will be
Wednesday evening and overnight.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY/...
As of 300 AM EST Monday...Pretty quiet weather expected from
today through Tuesday. Cold air advection continues so
temperatures will be dropping through the day today, and
overnight, then below normal maximum temperatures can be
expected for tomorrow. Overnight minimum temperatures drop into
the teens with some single digits in Northern New York.
Temperatures on Tuesday will only make it into the teens across
our Northern zones with some 20s in Southern and Eastern
Vermont. Have mention of chance snow showers in the Western
Dacks and Southern Saint Lawrence valley tonight and Tuesday as
upper level trough and upper level shortwave push into that area
along with some decent mid level moisture and continued cold air
advection. These snow showers will be pretty insignificant
though without any notable accumulations even, half an inch to
an inch. It will remain cloudy through Tuesday with lots of mid
level moisture and widespread cloud cover.

.SHORT TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/...
As of 316 AM EST Monday...Whats left of the upper level trough 
will be clearing across the North Country as we sit in between 
the void between the offshore surface low and a lake enhanced
feature over central New York. Dry air pushes in Wednesday as 
an upper level ridge briefly makes an appearance. Wednesday 
evening we'll see some scattered snow showers as a clipper type 
system tracks to our north across Quebec. On the back side of 
the low we should see some lake effect snow with mountain snow 
showers Thursday and Thursday night.

Temps will on the cold side Tuesday night with lows in the 
single digits above and below zero across the North Country. 
Wednesday the southerly flow ramps up quickly and we'll see warm
air advection begin. We'll warm to the mid 20s on Wednesday and
continue warming through Wednesday night with "lows" occurring 
right at 00z. By Thursday morning we should be in the mid 30s 
and we'll warm into the mid to upper 30s by Thursday afternoon. 
A cold front will start to move in sometime Thursday night into 
Friday with lows that evening in the single digits to mid teens 
depending on where the front is located.

That cold front will be something to pay attention to as the 
thermal boundary looks like it will be fairly sharp. Steep lapse
rates will lead to some potential instability and with decent 
moisture we may be in store for some potential snow squalls.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
As of 316 AM EST Monday...The arctic airmass behind a cold 
front that moves through on Thursday night will lead to temps 
well below normal on Friday with high pressure building in to 
our south. Flow aloft will be fairly zonal so the arctic 
airmass will stick around through much of the weekend with highs
in the teens to lower 20s and lows in the single digits.

There's some hint coming out of the weekend that a clipper type
system will bring snow Sunday into Monday of next week.

.AVIATION /08Z MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Through 06Z Tuesday...Mainly VFR through the forecast period, 
aside from some MVFR ceilings at SLK and MPV through 12z. Ceilings
will lift and break up by dawn as drier air works into the 
region, then thicken again Monday afternoon as high mid and high
clouds spread northward ahead of low pressure sliding up the 
coast.

Tuesday: Mainly VFR, with local MVFR possible. Slight chance SN.
Tuesday Night: VFR. NO SIG WX.
Wednesday: VFR. Chance SHSN.
Wednesday Night: Mainly VFR, with local MVFR possible. Chance
SHSN.
Thursday: Mainly MVFR, with local VFR possible. Chance SHSN,
Chance SHRA.
Thursday Night: Mainly MVFR, with areas VFR possible. Chance
SHSN.
Friday: Mainly MVFR, with local VFR possible. Chance SHSN.
