Tony Hawk and Digital Blue Introduce First Video Camera Designed for
Skate Boarders. The Tony Hawk Helmet Cam Lets You Easily Shoot
'Extreme Sport' Action Videos
Tuesday May 24, 8:00 am ET
ATLANTA, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Blue announced today the
launch of the highly anticipated Tony Hawk Helmet Cam, a lightweight
self-contained digital camcorder which easily attaches to a helmet and
records video and audio at the touch of a button with no cords
necessary. Working with Tony Hawk, the internationally renowned
skateboarding champion, Digital Blue created this revolutionary
product to enable skateboarders, cyclists, snow boarders and other
sports enthusiasts to make their own sports videos as exciting as
anything seen on TV.
"The Tony Hawk Helmet Cam will let you share the thrill of speed and
stunts with your friends. Imagine being able to e-mail them footage of
your wild rides, complete with sound and special effects!" said
Digital Blue CEO Tim Hall.
The Tony Hawk Helmet Camcorder straps to any helmet and comes with a
32MB memory card recording up to 30 minutes of video and sound. It
weighs less than 1/2 lb and uses just two AAA batteries. The Tony Hawk
Helmet Cam also features auto focus and 640 X 480 resolution, plus a
built-in microphone with a 12 foot range.
It comes with a CD-ROM packed with downloadable software with tools
for adding animation, text credits and music; for editing both audio
and video; and for e-mail and play back. The software lets kids edit
their own video alongside footage of Tony Hawk and other athletes.
The Tony Hawk Helmet Cam is an exciting new addition to Digital Blue's
hugely successful line of interactive electronic products, such as the
American Idol Camcorder and the award-winning QX5 Microscope.
"Tony Hawk is undeniably the best," said Hall. "He is a terrific role
model for kids and a perfect fit with Digital Blue. He brings with him
unparalleled brand recognition. Tony's website says it all: 'If I
don't do my best it kills me!'"
"Digital Blue's innovative video camera is ideal for skaters and
action sports enthusiasts," said Tony Hawk. "And the included software
gives kids so many editing tools that they will be looking like pros
in no time."
The Tony Hawk Cam retails for $99.99 and will be available in
September at major retailers.
