I just got back from a shopping trip to Toronto. My daughter took me to a
store on Yonge Street near Eglington Avenue called "The Sporting Life" where
they were having a big sale on ski gear. They had stacks of skis there. I
thought there were some real bargains and was tempted to buy some skis to put
in storage for future use. They had the Head Cyber 26X TPS (Head's top of the
line carver) for $399 CDN which equals about $260 USD. They also had the Volkl
P30 series ski for the same price. I looked through the Volkls and I saw the
SL and the RS models in several lengths. I believe they had most of the P30
series models. There was also a wide selection of Atomics and Volants at
similar prices, although the Volants were slightly higher in price.
Bindings were similarly priced too. I saw the Tyrolia Power Select 9 for $289
CDN which is about $187 USD. The sales clerks were not too knowledgeable, but
they had a lot of inventory. I asked how long the sale prices would last and
the clerk told me, "till they're gone." If you're in the Toronto area you
might want to check them out:

Back here in snowless Buffalo I am reading all the reports of skiing in Vermont
and getting a little anxious to get the ski season started. Just to assuage my
lusting for snow I began looking at ski photos on the internet, here is a list
of web sites with some great ski photographs:
