Single Pebble is probably pretty good chinese food by most people's
standards, I certainly have enjoyed it. However, I have heard that it
is inconsistent and not quite what it was when it first opened here in
Burlington or when it was in Barre. (For a little while they were
open in both towns simultaneously.) One of my sources on this is my
colleague whose husband is the head of the Asian Studies department
here at UVM (ie, spent lots of time in China) and they're SEVERE food
freaks.
If you go there, or to any decent Chinese place, try to go with at
least three other people so that you can order lots of dishes.
