Once upon a time, a young woman wanted to go skiing with me (well, she
wasn't that young and don't ask me why she'd actually wanna' ski with a rat
like me). "Mark, can we go skiing together this Winter; I'm an
intermediate skier, ya' know" was the rant during the Summer and Fall.
But, I had some suspicions. So for a first run, I took her down Bloodshed
at Killington. It was not pretty and at the bottom she had her tail
between her legs and mumbled the following confession: "um ... Mark ...
this is only the 5th time I've ever gone skiing".  But I thunk quick;
right behind me was mission control for the Killington Ski School and I
said to her, "hold on here for a few minutes". So I bought her a morning
lesson so that she could: a.) Actually learn b.) Be away from me for the
morning.
She was thrilled at my generosity and I postponed any headaches 'til the
afternoon. When we met for Lunch, she was thrilled at how much she had
learned and progressed and babbled even more mindlessly than she normally
did ! Even better news was that she had befriended an older woman in the
class who was in her words "at my level" and then asked if it was OK if the
two skied together for the afternoon (it was true, the person was an older
woman and not some wealthy Chippendale dancer), hence I was free for the
afternoon !!! So-o-o-o, lessons do indeed work.

MRG has offered Woman's ski programs since the inception of the Co-op.
