LOL

I had thrown all of my gear across the narrowest point I could find before
building that little "bridge". Then as I was about to attempt jumping
across, I decided that I might not make it and a frozen wet foot would've
been unpleasant at best. Hence the change of plan.

Thanks Roger. And I guess that depends on whose standards. Lexicon pun
intended. ;) Jokingly, anyone who wouldn't tally that as a day can kiss my
winker. ;)

More seriously, it opens up an interesting. I'm sure that you and many
others would agree that earning 'em is so completely different than riding
lifts that it's not even the same "sport" if you want to call it that. So
much of the experience is in the earning... Time spent outdoors, traveling
and exploring, getting as far from "the grid" as possible in all kinds of
weather, especially the warm sunny variety, is comparable to nothing else.
Call me recluse, but I doubt I'll ride lifts again this season even though
A-Basin will be spinning them for another month. This time of year I
simply _must_ be out in uncontrolled environments as much as possible. The
making turns down the hill part is only a partial reason for getting out
there.
