AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
330 PM EDT THU JUL 29 1999

SHOWERS/TSTMS SCT ABOUT FCST AREA ATTM...SO WILL INTRODUCE A
THRU THIS EVENING PERIOD IN ZONE FORECASTS. SKIES SHOULD BE PARTLY
CLOUDY OVERNIGHT AND WITH DEW PTS INCRG WOULD EXPECT SOME PATCHY
VALLEY FOG TO DEVELOP IN THE VALLEYS TONIGHT AND FRI NIGHT.

ON FRI...MODELS BRING UPR SHRTWV SEWD IN NW FLOW FRI AFTN AND ALSO
SHOW UPR LEVELS BCMG MORE DIFFLUENT FRI AFTN. WILL GO WITH A CHC
OF SHOWERS AND TSTMS FRI AFTN. WILL ALSO GO WITH AVN FAN POPS ON
FRI...AS NGM MOS POPS TOO LOW.

ON SAT...MODELS BLD UPR RDG OVER FCST AREA WITH TEMPS CLIMBING
INTO THE LOWER 90S. HOWEVER...THE HEAT WILL BE SHORT LIVED AS A
COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SEDWD INTO THE ST LAWRENCE VLY ON SAT NIGHT
AND THEN ACROSS THE FCST AREA ON SUN. WILL INTRODUCE A SAT NIGHT
PERIOD IN EXTENDED FCST...AS AVN MODEL SPITTING OUT SOME PRECIP LATE
SAT NIGHT. ALSO...AVN FAN POPS ALSO INDICATING A CHC OF PRECIP SAT
NIGHT.

WILL GO WITH NGM MOS TEMPS THRU THE PERIOD.

.BTV...LAKE THUNDERSTORM ADVISORY THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR LAKE

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
1033 AM EDT THU JUL 29 1999

SHOWERS/TSTMS ACROSS ADIRONDACKS AND SRN VT ATTM AHEAD OF A WK
SHRTWV. WILL BOOST POPS ACROSS ALL ZONES FROM SLIGHT CHANCE IN
CURRENT FCST TO CHC POPS. SAT LOOP FURTHER UPSTREAM SHOWING
SHOWERS/TSTMS OVER WRN ONTARIO AND MICHIGAN. HOWEVER...IT APPEARS
THAT ACTIVITY OVER MICHIGAN WILL PASS SE OF FCST AREA. ETA
FORECASTING CAPES TO INCREASE THIS AFTN ACROSS FCST AREA SO CANNOT
RULE OUT MORE SHOWERS/TSTMS DEVELOPING WITH AFTN HEATING. SAT LOOP
ATTM SHOWING CLD TOPS COOLING OVER ADIRONDACKS ATTM...WHILE
FURTHER SOUTH CLD TOPS ARE WARMING. INTERESTINGLY...LAST NIGHTS
00Z RUN OF THE AVN HAD CHC POPS FOR TODAY ACROSS FCST AREA...WHILE
NGM MOS WAS JUST ABOUT DITTO. CURRENT FCST DOES NOT HAVE ANY
MENTION OF PRECIP TONIGHT...BUT WILL HAVE TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT
THIS WITH NEW 12Z GUIDANCE. NO CHGS TO REMAINDER OF FCST.

.BTV...LAKE THUNDERSTORM ADVISORY THIS AFTERNOON FOR LAKE
CHAMPLAIN.
