Harvest comes early to central NY. Saturday was the day the corn ripened,
and it was sweet, pick of the season. Near 60 degrees, bluebird day. It was
one of the finest, however it happened all too soon, as we aren't yet ready
to let the snow season end. But we celebrated as if it were the end for us
in central NY, as it so likely is (since we just got a helluva thunderstorm
this morning).

I telemarked for 3 hours with many friends until my legs were weak. We had a
tailgate party at Chair 5 with about 20 people. Lots or reeb and nig and
tonics, plenty of food. I had a couple of strong nig and tonics with some
tasty fare from the grill. We played some lawn games some folks brought out
onto the snow. Then some of the late-lunch crowd got ready for some
late-afternoon turns in the mushy creamed corn.

Since I was a bit knurd and even a bit sore from telemarking in the heavy
creamed corn all morning, I opted for the phat skis with the locked heeled
bindings for ensurance. I don't think I ever skied that knurd before. Now I
know what Bode is talking about. It was great! I was able to go so much
faster and it was so much fun, grins ear to ear. We ripped up the mountain
and headed back to Chair 5 after the lift had stopped loading to clean up
the mess and pack up the chairs and grill.

Most of us talked about going back out today, since yesterday was so good,
but with the niar this morning, we'll maybe go later, or maybe not. It could
be over for Greek Peak. Now I must travel each weekend if I wanna keep
skiing, or maybe its time to get the kayak out.
