It is still early for the corn harvest, even in NJ as it seems. I was
hoping for some corn for dinner last night at Geek Peak, but surprisingly,
instead I got packed powder and eastern hardpack. The packed snow covered
more of the mountain than the eastern hardpack, so it was actually more of
a joy to ski.
Bubba was sick and the rest of our weds night gang couldn't muster up the
energy to go out after work, except for one friend riding snowboard. She
and I ripped it up for nearly 3 hours straight w/o a break. Having a
chatty girlfriend to ride the lifts with really helped make those long 8-
10 minute rides go fast.
We realized that this would probably be our last wednesday of night
skiing. I suspect that after this r@!n we are getting, they will no longer
be running the lifts after 5pm after the weekend.
Surprisingly, there was a decent turn-out last night.
Season's Passes are on sale for next year. They went up $20 to $249. Day
tix next season will be $54, a $5 increase. Who knows, maybe if they get
more $ they will put in a high speed lift (wishful thinking).
