Good afternoon Business and Grant Managers,

Since June 1st, SPA has received a large number of "urgent" and "emergency" requests to set up an advance account for the purpose of clearing suspense.  SPA Award Acceptance team worked diligently to process as many of these of these requests as possible.

At this point, if a department's advance account or sponsored project charstring has not been set up yet (with the exception of 3 in-process items), then the department's general fund charstring has to be used to meet the accounting deadline for clearing suspense.
